Voice Your Support to The City Council Today - Vote Yes for the Economic Development Trust Authority for Norman
Please take a moment to sign our online petition supporting the creation of the Economic Development Trust Authority for Norman. Our City Council will be voting on this issue tomorrow night.
We must do everything we can in our community to create and save jobs and grow our economic base. The Authority is subject to the Open Meetings and Public Records Act, any proposals must have City Council approval and it provides an avenue by which we can engage in the day to day activities associated with promoting economic development in Norman without putting the City of Norman at risk for debt, loss, or liability. Many communities from large metro areas to communities smaller than Norman - such as Ardmore, OK already have this tool at their disposal.
The creation of an economic development authority is another tool in our toolbox to make sure we have the jobs and strong economy needed to make all of our businesses successful and grow our tax base.
