Ashley's Belgian Beer Festival Continues

Ashley's Annual Belgian Beer Festival 2/9-19, Westland

Ashley's Belgian Beer FEstival continues through the weekend in Westland. So far we have tapped over 80 kegs of Belgian beer! Though tonight's beer dinner with the Van Eecke brewery is sold out you can still come and try some of their great beers. Dan

Tonight we will have all four Kapittel Abbey beers on tap as well as Christmas Leroy (named after the owners family) and both Poperings Hommel Biers (the Dark IPA was released to the US last night at the festival)

Tomorrow is SillyFest (see below) with the beers of Brasserie de Silly, pub games, Trivia and more.

The festival come to an end on Sunday with a Belgian waffle brunch (12-4), Trappist day ($1 off all Trappist beers) and at 8 pm, Kill the Kegs (we need to get ready for next week's events) $2 off all non-standard Belgian drafts. This is a great chance to try some rare Belgian beers at a great price but they will be running our quickly.

For all those that have already made at least one trip to the festival and for all those yet to come we want to thank you for your support in making Ashley's Belgian Beer Festival one of the biggest Belgian Festivals in the world. We will start planning next years in March.

Silly Games & Silly Beer!
Westland -1-5pm

When we visited Brasserie de Silly we played a archery game. It was Silly, quite difficult but a lot of fun. In that spirit we have created out SillyFest. The event kicks off at 1pm on Saturday (2/18) in Westland with some old style pub games. We will have an English Shove ha'penny, Pub Skittles, Sjoelbak (a shuffleboard

game of Dutch origin), Pub Quits (a ring toss) and Pub Quits. Score well and you can win discounts off Silly beers! Best of all, the games are free.

Biero Card

We will have Biero games throughout the day. Biero is a lot like Bingo but we will use Belgian Beer brands instead of numbers and letters. Again you can win coupons for discounts on beer and free to play

Pub Trivia will also take place Saturday afternoon at 2pm (instead of an evening game)

But what about the Silly beers? We will feature Silly Pils (an Ashley's standard), Silly Saison (an unusual amber saison), one of my favorites Scotch de Silly, their great triple abbey beer, Abbaye de Forest, Double Enghien Blonde and La Divine Triple (a dark triple) on draft. We will also have bottles of Pink Killer, a Belgian Wit beer flavored with red grapefruit.
