Calling generations of all nations to the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ!
Praying for Revival

To pray for revival is to pray for the promised reality of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: Forgiveness , Transformation , and Empowerment .

In Ezekiel 36:25-27, the prophet describes that the Lord "will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols."
This cleansing is forgiveness . As the old hymn declares, we are "prone to wonder, Lord I feel it; prone to leave the God I love." But, we are not prone to humble ourselves and confess our sins, that we have lived as though Christ is not enough. Revival apart from such humbling is impossible, but the work of God's grace in revival is miraculous.

God accomplishes something man cannot. The prophet explains that the Lord "will give you a new heart. . . remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh."
This new heart is transformation . We need not only to be forgiven but to be changed-transformed. God's vision has always been a people who are NOT like the nations. The Gospel of Christ is the work of God to make such a people.

The prophet also notes that God will "put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws."
This new Spirit is empowerment . The Holy Spirit enables us to follow Christ in obedience. We are no longer slaves to sin but free to live in a manner worthy of the Gospel.

Pray for people to seek God's forgiveness, transformation, and empowerment in Christ. Join us in praying for revival!

Men of Simplicity (MOS) Groups Resume in 2017

After a two week break plus some cancellations due to ice and snow, our MOS groups have resumed meetings in 2017. Here's a summary of a recent session, "Living a Life of Humility" presented at the first meetings this year, examining John 3:30: "He must increase, but I must decrease."

A man who seeks to live simply and purely devoted to Christ must walk humbly with Christ. Jesus must go on increasing and each man must go on decreasing. But, how do men experience the crushing of pride and the development of a true character of humility? Our view of Christ directly impacts whether we live with humility or we live in pride.

Like a see-saw, there is a reciprocating effect. An increasing view of Christ, through God's revelation of Himself to us and our seeking Him and fearing Him, results in a decreasing view of ourselves (i.e. humility). To seek God means that we agree with God about our sin, repent, return to Him, and obey His voice (Deut. 4:28-31). With an ever increasing knowledge of Jesus, a man will recognize and accept his own unworthiness, his neediness of God in all things, and his blessedness. However, if a man's view of himself increases (i.e. pride), his view of God is blurred, forgotten, misunderstood, or diminished. John has proclaimed in his teaching the key to walking humbly with God: Jesus must increase, but I must decrease.
