Greetings Friends!

We will not be having class this Saturday or Sunday due to an anatomy training.  For three days myself, Teresa, Sarah and other teachers and students of yoga wil be immersed in the amazing capacity of the human body and how it relates to poses (asana).  I'm soooo very excited to have this opportunity at my very own studio, as I usually have to travel for these trainings.  And I'm super excited to welcome Jules, our teacher from Los Angeles to our sweet yoga oasis.

Since we won't be having class I wanted to share a few ideas for you.  It's my hope that you'll still use the time you ususally carve out for some yoga love.

1.  Do your own home practice.  I know there can be some resistance we rolling our mat out alone and practicing yoga.  But it's such a lovely thing to do.  You've been to enough classes to know some poses (hello down dog and sun salutations). When all else fails, just connect to your body, ask what it wants, then move in that direction!

One of my fave things to do is spend 5 minutes dancing like a wild crazy gal, 5 minutes on yoga, 5 minutes for breathwork, and 5 minutes for meditation.  In just 20 minutes you can give attention to body, mind, and heart.  You can also use music and do one "thing" per song!

2.  Take an online class.  Yoga Journal has good videos that you can access them here!  You can purchase an online class with yogini rockstar Seane Corn here.  I'm not so much into the celebrities of yoga, but she is phenomenal.  I have a total yoga crush on her. :)

3.  Try out another yoga studio in the area.  My kind yoga bud Erin Smith has an amazing studio down the road in Winchester (the views alone are worth the drive).  You can find her here.  I also know that Romi is having free yoga classes Saturday morning for Yoga Day USA.  Details here....

4.  Spend time reflecting, visioning, and setting intentions for the year.  If you haven't done so already, download a whole packet of information about setting intentions for the year.  Find it here.  Next month's theme is Attention and the workshop to go along will be Saturday, Feb. 19.  Also students have been telling me about their intentions and vision boards.  I would so love to see a photo of your vision board.  Snap a photo and email it to me!

5.  Take your jounrnal, a book of poetry, or any other inspiring read to your fave coffee shop.  Spend time alone and let yourself be uplifted by the beauty of life.

Alright, there you have it!  Lots of ways to spend time nourishing your body, mind, and spirit this weekend.  Enjoy and we'll see you soon!

Yours in Yoga,

sharon
