In order to properly care for your skin it is important to adopt a healthy skin care routine. After all, your skin is your body's largest organ.

Did you know that your skin receives only 2% of your body's water consumption? When you drink water it goes to your body's vital organs first: your brain, heart, liver... etc. Water consumption is detrimental to your skin's health and function. When you consume enough water your skin will perform at its optimum level and your skin will be healthy and beautiful.

In addition, it is important to maintain a healthy pH balance. The pH of a substance is based on a scale of 0-14, with pH7, the natural acidity of water, being neutral. The pH level of healthy skin is 5.5, as this level of acidity assists in warding off harmful microorganisms from the surface of the skin.

Many soaps, because of harsh sulfates and other synthetics, are very alkaline. This will strip the skin of it's natural oils, which will leave the skin tight and dry, and vulnerable to harmful bacteria. In order to maintain a healthy skin pH, always use a mild cleanser, free of harsh chemicals and surfactants, such as: castile-based cleansers or organic and unrefined coconut oil. Because even natural soaps and cleansers are alkaline, it is very important to follow with a natural toner, such as: witch hazel (with no more than 14% alcohol content); flower water or hydrosol; or a combination of the two. This will balance and restore your skin's acid mantle. Always follow with a serum containing organic carrier and essential oils.

It is important to follow the same skin care routine both morning and evening. Never, ever, go to bed with makeup on your face.

Internally, a healthy blood pH is 7.35. In order to maintain a healthy internal pH it is important to cut out refined sugars and artificial sweeteners; eat raw organic vegetables and fruits; practice yoga, meditation, and mindful breathing; avoid transfats; incorporate products into your skin care routine that contain pure and organic essential oils; get 15 minutes of morning sunshine every day; cut out all synthetic products and find natural alternatives, even if you have to do it a little at a time; stop drinking fluoridated tap water; eat more green vegetables; and, cut back on meat consumption.

So, as you see, what you put on your body is just as important as what you put into your body. Maintaining healthy pH levels, inside and out, will assist your body in achieving homeostasis, which will prevent infection and disease.

A note on groupon.com offers

I have placed offers on groupon.com in order to grow my client base and to let people know about my business. There is a limit on the number of groupons that can be sold each month. Therefore, these offers are available to new clients only. They are limited to two Groupons per client. You may purchase one for yourself and one as a gift. You may also receive one as gift. Please do not exceed the specified limit.

Unfortunately, there are those who take advantage of these offers and continue to purchase groupons one after another. I can no longer accept groupons that have exceeded the allowable limit. I run a private business and cannot continue to give my services away as this is how I make my living. Please be considerate. Once you have purchased a groupon you are considered an established client and are only eligible for in-house specials. Thank you for your cooperation.
