MEET OUR STAFF
Our practice is excited to have added our MOHS surgeon, Dr. Perrotto. Dr. Perrotto is a board certified dermatologist and has completed a fellowship through the American College of MOHS Surgery. He has performed thousands of MOHS surgeries. He is a member of the American College of MOHS Surgery as well as the Florida Society of Dermatologist Surgery. In his free time, Dr. Perrotto enjoys spending time with his family as well as skiing, fishing and free diving.

ATOPIC DERMATITIS-ECZEMA
Atopic dermatitis or eczema is a chronic skin condition which causes itchy, red skin. It can affect both children and adults. Often times patients with eczema also have a history of asthma and allergies. Eczema patients have a defect in their skin barrier function making their skin irritated by certain triggers including soap, weather, and temperature. There are new medications available for the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Dupixent was approved on March 28, 2017 for the treatment of moderate to severe eczema. It is a biological medication that is injected every other week. This medication works by blocking proteins called interleukins which are thought to be the trigger of eczema. In December 2016 the FDA approved Eucrisa a topical treatment for eczema. It is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, topical ointment which decreases the symptoms of atopic dermatitis such as itchy, redness, and thick skin.
