Stay up to date!
From Sunday:
I think understanding the Trip from Jerusalem to Jericho boils down to this. Not only must we love our neighbors, but we have to be willing to let our enemies all the way into our lives, even down to tending to us when we are sick. Jesus is saying that the kingdom of God is not just about us being willing to reach out and help people we don't even know it is about us letting others become a part of our community. The parable is not just about individuals crossing the barriers between them, but it is about communities crossing that barrier. Jesus is proposing a new world where there are no enemies. A world where there the wall between us and them does not exist. A world where cooperation and not competition are the basis for human communities.
