Message from the Board
Its official, the school year is underway and we have one week under our belts already!

Your new Sloan PTO Board and Committee Chairs have hit the ground running, and we are sprinting towards fall (the Halloween shops and candy are out already!) We have so many great activities planned for our students and families.  We hope you are ready to help us make 2015-2016 a MAGNIFICENT school year.  Everything we do is based on volunteers.  We encourage you to be involved - dads, moms, even grandparents!   "Many hands make the job easier."
September is packed full of events (check out the Dates to Remember section at the bottom) like Spirit Sales, Book Fair, Open House, Fall Family event and the always-popular Josh & Gab assembly.  October will focus on the 2nd Annual Dance-a-thon.  We have reduced the number of fundraisers this year and are focusing our efforts on a smaller number of fundraisers; we are counting on the Dance-a-thon to be our PRIMARY fundraiser for the entire year.  The Committee Chairs held a kick-off meeting on 9/1; there are a lot of new ideas and a lot of opportunities for parent support.  We are appreciative of whatever time parents can contribute; not all needs are during school hours.  There is truly something for everyone.

(1) visit us at  Here you can also register your email address to receive the e-newsletters sent to your inbox. Check out the Calendar of Events, browse the Fundraising and Committee info, and Get to Know Your PTO!

(2) join our Sloan PTO Press page on Facebook; here we will also post newsletters, as well as many event & activity reminders.

These will be our primary means of communication this year as we continue to be fiscally and environmentally responsible with our use of paper flyers and forms. Flyers/Forms will be posted on under Parents/Flyers & Forms; some will be sent home in hard copy.  Newsletters will NOT be sent home in hardcopy.
Lastly, we would like to relay how grateful we are to the previous Board (Jennifer Taylor, Pam Rowell, Nancy Golembiewski, Debby Rhea and Megan Ciaramitaro) and Committee Chairs who have been so gracious with their time and input in helping us transition to our roles. But they aren't going far....we are so fortunate that Nancy is staying on the Board as our seasoned veteran, and our former Board members are returning to chair committees.  Thank you, thank you, thank you. We look forward to working with our wonderful Sloan students, parents, teachers and administration.
