Rates support safe, reliable service

Once a year, as needed, rate changes are made to support the safe and reliable operations of the utilities system. Recently, City Council unanimously approved changes to 2018 rates.

Typical, four-service residential customers will see a $4.21 (1.9 percent) increase. Use our online calculator at csu.org to determine how the approved changes will impact you specifically.

Rate increases are on-pace with the national inflation rate. The largest portion of the increase supports water services. In 2018, we're upgrading two water treatment facilities and repairing or replacing aging pipes, tanks and other facilities. C hanges will go into effect Jan. 1, 2018.

Financial support to local nonprofits in 2018

For the first time in four years the Utilities Board has approved funding to local nonprofits in our  Annual Operating Budget.

The program, administered through the Community Focus Fund (CFF), has $256,000 to grant to nonprofit organizations. The range for the grants will be between $700 - $10,000. The strategic priorities for the 2018 funding are energy efficiency and wise water use; supporting a prepared and diverse workforce pool; STEM education; employee volunteerism; safety; and the environment.

The deadline to submit a funding request is 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018. Visit csu.org for more information or to apply.
