Father’s Day eve was a hot and wild one at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had a season-high 45 cars ready for action. Heat races were captured by Tim Smith, Jeremy Tunny, Michael McKinnon, and Trae Bowman. Crafty veteran Smith worked to the front near midway and drove off to the win in the first 20 lap “A” feature He was followed by rookie point leader Bowman and overall standings topper Andrew Brown. The second “A” main saw former top freshman Marc Bisson earn his first feature triumph of 2018 holding off the hard charge from former series king Don VanValkenburg III. Rookie Matt Witty rounded out the race podium.

The largest field of the season was also on hand in the Circle City Pyrotechnics Junior Faskart division. 19 racers aged 7-15 started their program with preliminary competition. Winning those contests were Ashton Murello, Jalen Summers, and Tyler Morefield. Several drivers seemed to have control of the feature. The momentum changed multiple time times via red flags for attrition. Emerging for victory was rookie Nathan Brown for the second consecutive event. Championship point leader John Hargraves Jr took second and 2018 main winner Brayden Tharp third.

The Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars were back to point gathering after a couple weeks in rest mode. The two top runners in the standings, Dale Harper and EJ Neat, were ready to go splinting the early evening heat races. The 25 lap feature began with bad luck early for front row starters Andy Sherley and Jeff Swinford. Blasting from the dust of their misfortune was Noah Neat. His nice early advantage dwindled a bit in the waning moments, but he stayed steady enough to win his first division event. Rookie point leader Joe Gonder Jr scored a career best second while third generation racer Tristan Riddle took third.
