So Many Flavors!

Variety is the spice of...
a GREAT weekend!

Some of us enjoy vanilla, some like chocolate, and some prefer strawberry.

You may be excited for OWL's annual Ice Cream Social, you may be counting the minutes 'til the Blues, Brews and BBQ in Cherry Valley, or you may be mooooved by the notion of a day at the Meredith Dairy Fest.

So many choices.
So much variety.
So many flavors.

Our advice:
Treat yourself and sample as many as you can !

Have fun!

We'll see you next Thursday.

The rare sights and sounds of a steam engine chugging through the Catskills will return when the Delaware & Ulster Railroad hosts a three-day steam locomotive event from June 8-10. The steam locomotive ride offers a unique bit of nostalgia that's a rare experience for passengers. The Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA built the steam locomotive coming to Arkville in 1924 for the Viscose Company to work in a textile mill. The locomotive is a "tank" engine from that it carries it water tank over the boiler and it uses coal for fuel.

The Haunts of Rip Van Winkle
The rare sights and sounds of a steam engine chugging through the Catskills will return when the Delaware & Ulster Railroad hosts a three-day steam locomotive event from June 8-10. The steam locomotive ride offers a unique bit of nostalgia that's a rare experience for passengers. The Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia, PA built the steam locomotive coming to Arkville in 1924 for the Viscose Company to work in a textile mill. The locomotive is a "tank" engine from that it carries it water tank over the boiler and it uses coal for fuel.

Dairy & Berry Day Celebration!
Festival Farmers Market, operating in Cobleskill NY for over 22 years, kicks off the 2018 growing season on June 10th by celebrating the start of summer with their traditional Dairy & Berry Day Celebration! Always a family-fun event, it has been expanded again this year to include new elements along with old standards. The theme adopted for this year is "Summer Safety" and will be held at Veterans Memorial Centre Park in Cobleskill, NY from 11am - 4pm on Sunday, June 10th. Live music by the popular local country-blues artist, Mike Herman, begins at 12 noon, right after the flag and wreath-laying ceremony also conducted annually in the park by the Cobleskill Elks Lodge, opening the event at 11am. Maple Queen, Lauren Betsinger, will be at the park as well as Cobleskill Police Officer Chris Sniffen and his police dog, Wilson. Rain or shine, a number of agencies will be presenting a variety of SUMMER SAFETY tips including pet safety, food safety, fire and kid safety. Kids will have things to do including petting the animals of the mini-petting zoo, meeting police dog Wilson, and checking out the animals looking for a forever-home from the Animal Shelter of Schoharie County. Face painting and planting pots are also offered. As usual, the availability of garden flowers and herbs, backed goods, local cheeses, milk soaps, USDA Meats, honey and maple, along with any available berries of the season, will be presented by the Festival Farmers Market vendors. Stewart's generously makes their sundaes available again to attendees of Dairy & Berry Day.
