So You HAD A Bad Day!? 9/18/16
You Had A Bad Day! 9/18/16

Philippians 3:13 (KJV)
13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

" SO YOU HAD A BAD DAY!?"

Thank God for yesterdays!!!!

AND thank God that our Bible records the phrase "IT CAME TO PASS" 2204 times!!!

AND thank God that the Psalmist wrote that WE "walk THROUGH the valley of death" and not TO it!!

Psalm 23:4 (KJV)
4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

We ALL have bad days-AMEN!!??

I am finally home after spending 2 weeks with my "Foley family."

I had a wonderful trip, was greatly inspired and refreshed, but as my dear friend said:

" No good deed goes unpunished!!"

The devil is in the details.

We awoke early (PTL for awakening AGAIN!), packed our belongings and cleaned well the cottage we were allowed to stay in.

The weather report from the night before showed no sign of rain, but.............

As we loaded the truck, the sky turned black and just as we began to load an 83 year old great-great grandmother and 35 year old handicapped daughter and wheelchair, the sky began to pour.

By the time we pulled out, all four of us were soaked to the skin.

What should HAVE taken 5 hours to complete turned into a 9 and ½ hour NIGHTMARE- "SO YOU HAD A BAD DAY!"

We drove about two hours when I noticed little Amanda, seated shotgun in the front seat, having an issue with the detested seat belt.

She HATES the strap that covers her upper body and attempts every time to stealthily slip it behind her back, thus rendering it useless, BUT more comfortable to her.

I, sitting behind her in the back seat, reached up and unclasped the snap and the nightmare/bad day got worse.

The seat belt became a web as it quickly encircled her lower body.

We were forced to pull off the highway in a fruitless attempt to extract her from the now tightening belt.

We called 911 to no avail-nobody would answer the phone!!??

Finally, after three calls somebody answered and promised to send help.

Expecting to hear the wail of a siren, we WAITED and then WAITED some more.

Finally after over a half hour of waiting, an unmarked pickup truck drew alongside us.

Two men got out and spent another half hour trying to extract her from the seat belt.

Nothing worked and finally the man drew his knife and cut the seat belt off Amanda.

Now we had NO seat belt in the front seat and so the three of us-Amanda, Granny, and myself were forced to occupy the back seat-Amanda in the left back seat, Granny in the middle and me in the passenger side.

That quickly unraveled as Amanda wore Granny out and we stopped AGAIN and Granny and I swapped places.

For the next FOUR HOURS, I fought with Amanda to make her keep the seat belt on.

FOUR HOURS of sweating, fighting and SCREAMING-NONSTOP SCREAMING!!!

Thoughts of murder, quitting, resigning the ministry and divorce filled my raging head, (just kidding for any and all attorneys reading this post!)

But-GUESS WHAT?- that was yesterday-I HAD a bad day!

I can laugh about it today, BUT yesterday.........................!!??

So, what does one do, WHEN we have a bad day!!??

Luke 9:62 (KJV)
62  And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

WE forget about it, WE turn the page, WE look NOT back except to laugh and rejoice we survived!

Philippians 3:13 (KJV)
13  Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,

Malachi 3:16 (KJV)
16  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

WE REMEMBER the MANY times God was WITH us and DELIVERED us from the fiery trials that try men and women souls.

Philippians 4:8-9 (KJV)

8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

May "THE GOD OF PEACE" be WITH YOU today!!!

THANK GOD FOR YESTERDAY!!!!
