Abu Dhabi to Build World's Largest Solar Power Plant
Abu Dhabi's government-owned power utility aims to close a financing package for a 3.2 billion dirham ($872 million) solar power plant, which will be the world's largest, in April, a senior official at the utility said on Sunday.  Last week, Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority (ADWEA) said it had selected a consortium of Japan's Marubeni Corp and China's JinkoSolar Holding to build and operate the 1,177 megawatt plant. Toyota's Prius Prime Will Have a Panasonic Solar Module on the Roof 
Yesterday Panasonic unveiled a next-generation solar roof panel that will be optionally used on the Japanese-market Toyota Prius Prime.  With more than triple the energy generation of former 50-watt roof panels on the Toyota, the HIT Photovoltaic Module for Automobile could find its way onto other brand cars and will be able to power accessories and charge the battery with 180 watts output. More

Amazon Installing Rooftop Solar Power on its Warehouses
Amazon has begun installing rooftop solar power atop its warehouses with the intention of completing at least 50 such installations by 2020.  The online retail giant  says that  by the end of 2017, rooftop solar power systems on 15 of its American fulfillment and sortation centers - in California, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, and Nevada - will be generating up to 41 megawatts (MW) of power. More

Oregon Set to Get 56 Megawatt Solar Power Plants, Expected to be State's Largest
Construction has commenced on a 56 megawatt (MW) solar plant in Oregon. The Gala Solar Power Plant, in Crook County, is expected to be the largest operating facility in the state, sustainable energy company  SunPower  said in a statement on Monday.  The plant is set to be completed by the end of the year, and is expected to generate around 300 jobs during "peak construction", SunPower added. More
