Agricultural statistics for the state of Massachusetts are impressive. The 2012 Census of Agriculture reports that,
"Massachusetts was one of only 10 states that saw an increase in both the number of farms and land in farms" since 2007.
Equally exciting is the fact that 32 percent of "principal operators" are women, making it the "highest percentage among the New England states and the third highest nationwide".   Thank you for your support and encouragement of Massachusetts farmers by shopping at farmers' markets.

Many of you have asked if Soluna Garden Farm would be joining us again this summer.  The wait is over!
Pick up tea, herb and spice blends, salt and accessories.  Choose a selection and make a unique gift box, and don't forget to stop by and sample their tea of the day.

We welcome a first time vendor this week, OMG! Bagels

from Waltham.  When we asked Andrew Lloyd what is unique about OMAG!, he replied, "Our bagels are the real thing. Made in the traditional New York style, we boil our bagels before baking, giving them a crispy outside, with a soft, fluffy inside. We use only the finest all-natural ingredients in 17 flavors and bake a fresh batch every morning, which allows us to use no preservatives.  Made  locally at our bakery in Waltham, our bagels are the perfect combination of delicious flavor and quality ingredients, with a  minimal carbon footprint."

Town Farm Gardens is running a special this week. Anyone

who purchases over $20 worth of product will receive a free

6 fl oz jar of jam. "These are the smaller jars we use for our

limited edition jams that we can't make all year round,"

says Laurie O'Day-Starcher, "We have elderberry and

gooseberry-currant available right now."  The farm has just completed the revision of their website.

Looking for something delicious to serve that only requires
five minutes of preparation?  We made Olga's Flavor Factory's "Roasted Whole Trout with Lemon and Herbs" over the
weekend and it was just as simple and tasty as promised.

Our Vermont friends, Jane from West River Creamery and
Sandy from Vermont Gourmet Candy Dish are making the
trip south to join us Wednesday.  They will bring along some
of the major "food groups", including cheese, maple syrup, bacon, relishes, jellies and dessert sauces.

As Brigham Farm waited for more flowers to bloom, they have been bringing beautiful kale/flower bouquets. The recent rain has given flowers and vegetables a welcome burst of growth.

Fior D'Italia Pasta & Cheese can help you with your ingredient list for the fresh vegetable and Tortellini Salad by The Meaning of Pie blogger, Kelly Yandell.

will finally be able to enjoy your masterpiece.

It was pretty warm last week, but that didn't keep Gabby
and Cheryl Cellucci of Great Harvest Bread from doing a mother-daughter dance to unwind at the end of the day.

Our thanks to Pam Bonaguide for sharing her face painting skills last week.

My Montessori of Sudbury has generously offered to provide the Children's Activity this week between noon and 3 PM.
They will be doing fingerprint pictures, reading stories and playing with building blocks.  Stop by to find out about their new school opening in September.

Tents and tables will be set up in the shade for you to enjoy
the notoriously large sandwiches from Stop & Shop,
available from noon to 2 PM.

This season we are collecting non-perishable food for the Parmenter Food Pantry each week of the Market.  The food is distributed once a month.  At our August 6, September 3 and October 1 markets, you will be able to buy fresh items to donate, as the distribution is the following day.
