Mondays, July 23, & 30, at 11:30 to 1 p.m.
Location: Congregation Sha'aray Shalom
“There is no greater power on earth
than an idea whose time has come.”
We will study the words of MLK during the 1960’s, a time of great civil unrest in the United States. Along with MLK’s words, we will examine the responses from the pulpit. Central to our discussion will be the question:
What is the morally correct road to take in the face of unjust laws?
Copies of MLK’s “
Letter from Birmingham Jail”
and his “
I Have a Dream”
speech will be distributed during class, but feel free to examine them on your own beforehand.
Note: This is a stand-alone course and open to the community.
