19th Annual General Assembly
"The Evolution of Retail and Its Challenges for Cities"
Please join us for what promises to be an exciting program.  The free event will take place on Friday, February 23rd from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm (exhibits and registration open at 8:30 am) at the Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center in Carson.  The General Assembly is one of the SBCCOG's biggest events of the year that showcases all of our programs, gives our members an opportunity for networking and to learn about issues that will challenge cities.

The theme of this year's General Assembly is "The Evolution of Retail and Its Challenges for Cities".  Across the nation, technological changes are disrupting the retail sector and regional economies.  Retail businesses are closing, leaving vacant buildings resulting in less sales tax revenue that disrupts both city land use planning and municipal finance.  Retailers remaining in business are automating.  Dramatic decline in employment in the retail sector is expected.  The General Assembly will bring together experts who will address the possible impacts from these forces of change on South Bay cities and strategies for adapting to the new conditions.

We rely on sponsors to help underwrite this free event that attracts over 350 people from all over the South Bay.  If your business is interested in becoming a sponsor, please contact Jennifer Zivkovic LaMarque at jenniferz@southbaycities.org or (310) 371-7222.

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.  Register Here

Water Savings Rebates and Incentive Programs

Saving water is more important than ever, and with the new year here, you might be thinking about upgrading some of your plumbing fixtures, landscaping equipment, food equipment, and/or HVAC equipment.  There are a number of rebates available on a wide variety of water-saving technologies.

The Water Savings Incentive Program (WSIP) is designed for non-residential customers improving their water efficiency through upgraded equipment or services that do not qualify for standard rebates.  WSIP is unique because it provides an incentive based on the amount of water customers save.  This "pay-for-performance" design allows customers to implement custom projects for their sites.
