Hello Everyone!
We want to thank everyone for your continued support each and everyday. We appreciate your diligence in having your child to school on-time and for being well-prepared for learning each day. Also please remember that our academic day continues until dismissal each afternoon and it is very important that students don't leave early unless it is an unavoidable appointment, emergency, or your child gets sick. We are working so hard to help your child reach their full potential in all subject areas!
The last few months, we have been working on being kind to one another at school. Doing good deeds on a regular basis can make kindness a habit. Please encourage your child to be on the lookout for ways to reach out and help friends. I like to acknowledge a child when they lend a pencil to another student, play with a sad child on the playground, and even when they teach a friend how to do something. I think spending time with a sibling at home, or playing with a pet are simple everyday ways children can be kind after school. Please help your child find ways to show kindness at home and in our community. Thank You for all you do to help raise a kind child!
We all know that learning is natural and young children are amazing at it. Learning is play to them. What you say to them early influences how they relate to learning later in life, when it can be more difficult or frustrating. Please try as often as you can, to praise your child for being a good learner. You can say, "Wow, what a fast learner you are!", or "My, you are getting so smart!" Words like that are so motivating and fun to hear :)
RIFF (Reading Is Family Fun) night is coming up at the end of February. Please encourage your child to participate in the Reading rooms this year. It is so fun for them to get up and read in front of an audience. Remember too, that reading to your kids bring about so many benefits. Books provide a gateway to the world—people, places and ideas. So please read, read, and read some more this month!
In partnership,
Mrs. Hayes :)
