Small Business Help

CRA BANKUNITED HELP

The Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) announces a new program with BankUnited aimed at streamlining the process for CRA area businesses to acquire lines of credit and commercial loans needed for growth.

Under the terms of BankUnited's Express Credit program, business owners within the Omni, Southeast Overtown/Park West, and Midtown CRAs will be granted decisions on their applications within 24 hours of submission and will not need collateral to obtain a loan.

"This program is an additional incentive the CRA can use to attract new investment within the redevelopment areas and hopefully will serve as a catalyst to continued growth," says SEOPW CRA Chairman Richard Dunn.

In addition to the Express Credit program, Bank United has offered to conduct workshops and informational sessions with CRA area business owners focused on their financial future. "We are pleased to offer assistance and guidance to such a varied base of small business owners within the CRA and look forward to helping them achieve success," says Gustavo Puente, Vice-President Branch Manager IV at BankUnited.

For more information on the program contact Gustavo Puente at gpuente@bankunited.com and mention the Miami CRA.

Overtown ECO-FAIR
CRA EDMONSON ECO-FAIR
Miami-Dade County Commissioner Audrey Edmonson took part in an Eco-Fair held this month at the Town Park North Community Center in Overtown.  Residents had an opportunity to exchange old showerheads and light bulbs for more water and energy efficient models from the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department, and also to learned about healthy nutrition from the Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Division, which works in conjunction with the County's Consumer Services Dept. and the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences.
