Lecture and Guided Edible Plant Walk
with Devan Arnold
Saturday, May 19, 10:30-2:30
Mason Library

Participants will meet at the Mason Library at 10:30am for a brief talk by Devan Arnold about some basics of woodland plant identification, the ecology of our woodland systems, and the cautions and ethics around wild crafting.
After the brief talk participants will carpool from the Mason Library to the Monument Mountain trailhead on Rt. 7 where we shall walk the Indian Monument Trail (heading left from the parking lot, the old carriage road). We will be covering approximately 4 miles round trip, identifying and discussing wild plants as we hike, giving particular focus to those plants which can be safely and beneficially eaten by people. We are estimating returning to the parking lot by approximately 2:30pm. Participants should remember to bring water, snacks and bugspray for the hike.

Please note that participants hike at their own risk.

Once again, we are preparing for our Annual On-line Auction. Last year we were able to reach 48 states in the U.S. and received over a dozen phone calls asking about the Berkshires from people wanting to bid on our auction items. In 2017 over 2,000 people viewed our auction, this year we hope to hit 3,000 auction viewers.

This is where we need your help.

Would you be willing to donate this year to make our 2018
On-line Auction a huge success?
