"The Flavors are Great.
The Cause is Awesome."
SoCo Creamery is proud to collaborate with Charley's Fund to bring our scoop shop customers two new flavors, hand-picked by the fund's namesake Charley Seckler and his classmates from a support club at Monument Mountain Regional High School.

SoCo unveiled this weekend the flavors Chacha Matcha, a green tea ice cream with honey from Grey Raven Farm in Lanesborough, and Charley's Ripple, a salted caramel with a thick fudge swirl. For every scoop purchased, SoCo will donate 50% of the proceeds directly to Charley's Fund.

Charley came up with the idea and the other students at Monument Mountain gave us some suggestions for flavors, says SoCo Flavor Master Megan Alberg. We made some samples for them to try and then we narrowed it down to these two. It was fun. The flavors are great and the cause is awesome.

Charley was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy when he was three years old. The disease is the number one genetic killer of children worldwide. His parents Benjy and Tracy Seckler of Alford started the non-profit organization to help researchers develop new treatments for the disease.

The fund has directed more than $40 million into medical research for new therapies that aim to slow and even stop the disease. More information about Charley's Fund is available at  charleysfund.org.
