Each month we highlight one of these local superstars in our BerkShares Business of the Month series. For the month of December we're featuring the Nonprofit Center of the Berkshires, which is working to strengthen nonprofit organizations in the region through shared services and creative collaboration.
Salisbury Bank has made a generous contribution to further the CDC's work in affordable housing development and job creation, making great use of Mass. Community Investment Tax Credits. Their $5,000 donation will result in a fifty percent ($2,500) credit on their Mass. tax liability - a remarkable leverage of their philanthropic work and a great benefit for those in our communities needing housing and jobs in the southern Berkshires.
There is still time in 2017! Use Community Investment Tax Credits and double the impact of your giving! Any individual or business with a donation of $1,000 or more qualifies. For more information:
We are just $25,000 away from securing our $15,000 matching donation!
The Blue Rider Community has come through in an incredible way!
In just over a month you have helped us raise $40,000. We only have 9 more days to meet our December 31st deadline of raising $65,000.
We are too close to let that $15,000 slip away!
Your donation today will help us reach our $65,000 goal.
This will not only secure our $15,000 matching donation, it will ensure that Blue Rider Stables will still be here to serve our community in the New Year.
We are are grateful for your donation of any size!
The snow has arrived at the Bidwell House Museum and while the house may look quiet, the museum staff are busy planning for the 2018 season. With new programs and a new accessible entrance, we can't wait to welcome you back on Memorial Day weekend. In the meantime, bring your snow shoes or hop onto your cross-country skis as you explore the winter woods. Don't forget, the museum's trails are open year round!
Thank you for supporting the Bidwell House Museum. Wishing you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!
As a Board Member as well as a leaseholder on one of three Community Land Trusts here in Berkshire County I am asking for your support by making an end of year contribution to the Berkshire Community Land Trust (BCLT). As a leaseholder myself I can speak from personal experience as I am happily situated in a community living situation that is affordable when there is such high growth in wealth inequity making it more difficult for local Berkshire workforce and retirees to find convenient affordable housing.
Another mission of BCLT is to acquire more land to accommodate farmers who cannot afford to purchase land but whose passion is to grow food for their local community. Increasing the availability of farmland is crucial at a time when food shortages could become a reality. Indian Line Farm was the first CSA in the country and we already have begun initiatives to acquire more farmland. We want young working families back here in the Berkshires and are formulating ideas for Tiny House structures on common land.
Your support is instrumental to fostering future opportunities for farmers, working families and small manufacturing businesses. We have to think big at a time when there is so much uncertainty. We can prepare for the future needs of Berkshire County with your help. Thank you.
