It's officially autumn, and I'm ready for it. It's always a bit painful to bid farewell to summertime, but we have a lot to look forward to in the coming months. Local ingredients still shine - peppers, squash, apples and pears all look amazing. I'd love to squeeze in a mushroom hunting trip or two in the next few weeks. Take advantage of the bounty right outside of our city if you can find the time!

We're doing a bit of work over at 926 12th avenue, transforming our original home into Southpaw. It feels great to breathe new life into that beloved dining room, and we're hoping that it will become a regular hangout for the neighborhood. Southpaw will be open from lunch through the dinner hours and offer drinks on tap, wood fired pizza and roasted vegetables, soft-serve ice cream ... all of the ingredients for a casual, comfortable meal with friends. We'll let you know when w e have an opening date set in stone.

Slab Sandwiches + Pie, our sandwich shop tucked behind Lark, has been bustling. We love dreaming up sandwich and slab pie recipes that show off the best ingredients of each season and we're thrilled that Slab has so many fans. Seating at Slab has always been minimal and our increased foot traffic has made finding a seat even trickier. We've decided to open up  seating at the Lark bar during Slab's hours, Monday - Friday, 10am - 3pm. Customers will still enter and place their order at Slab, but now you'll have the option to pass through to Lark to take a seat at the bar. Come into Slab soon for lunch and take advantage of our expanded real estate!
