On November 3rd and 4th in Lower Manhattan, Calpulli Mexican Dance Company performs its celebrated repertoire and a premiere of a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the dead) suite, evoking the unending relationship between the living and the departed with music and dance as the language that transcends. Meticulous costuming, passionate live music, and larger than life surprises in store.
A tribute to the heart and soul of Mexico here in New York City, under the Artistic Direction of Noemy Hernandez and Musical Direction of George Saenz, the Company of 16 dancers and core of musicians will make their Schimmel debut. For nearly a decade, Calpulli has recreated folk dances celebrating Mexican traditions and new works which employ non-traditional dance forms.

El 3 y 4 de noviembre en el bajo Manhattan, Calpulli Danza Mexicana presentara su inolvidable repertorio y estrena su nueva obra sobre el “Día de los Muertos,” invocando la interminable relación entre los vivos y los muertos, usando la música y la danza como lengua trascendental.
