Only three days ago, CCR was asked to admit a very pregnant yellow lab mutt that had been found roaming the streets.  Because of her situation, we quickly admitted the poor girl and set her up in a comfortable run at our facility.  Our staff decided to name her Ruby.  A visiting vet determined that Ruby would be having her puppies soon.  Yesterday, our big girl gave birth to ELEVEN puppies with our staff monitoring her and keeping her as comfortable as possible. 

CCR will be caring for Ruby and her puppies for the next eight weeks (at least) and helping Ruby out by bottle feeding her puppies as needed, monitoring them carefully for weight gain, etc..

  Donations for the sale will be accepted starting on Sunday, May 6^th at Noon until 9:00 am on Saturday, May 12^th.  If it's possible, we encourage donors to drop off their items on the day of the sale between 6 am and 9 am or between the hours of Noon and 6:00 pm during the week prior.  There is NO pick-up service.  We encourage people to donate electronics, DVDs, CDs, books, kitchen items, furniture, tools, small appliances, toys, children's clothes and shoes, etc...  We will not accept broken items or adults' clothes and shoes.

 All proceeds of the sale go to the dogs of the Chicago Canine Rescue!
