Nontoxic Pigments, from Fungi!
At BEST FEST, SERI ROBINSON, an assistant professor of anatomy of renewable materials at the OSU College of Forestry, will discuss her work using fungal pigments found in nature to replace synthetic dyes, which can be toxic and are petroleum derivatives. She was awarded Oregon BEST funds to commercialize the use of fungal pigments in decking stains and recently won a $410,000 NSF grant to study using the pigments on solar cells. More...
