In 2017, we witnessed a shift in democracy; people across the country joined together to defend civil liberties and constitutional rights. Women & allies are raising their voices to celebrate the spirit and efforts of 2017, and now our focus turns to the upcoming 2018 elections.
On Saturday, January 20, 2018, LWV of Illinois will join women across the state at the Women's March to the Polls in Chicago. We want you to join us!
For those of you who can't make the trip to Chicago, check out other events happening across the state. For more information or if you have any questions, feel free to email lwvil.org
Our community is focused on informed and active participation in government, working to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influencing public policy through education and advocacy. Join us in our mission!

To give you some inspiration, here's what LWVIL's signs will say:
Love, Not Hate, Makes Us Great
Raise Your Voice: Vote!
Because she persisted: 104 years of Illinois Women voting
Persist like a Suffragist: Vote!
Please add our website address www.lwvil.org to any new signs you make to help drive interested people our way.
Lastly, don't forget to use #LWVILMarchestothePolls to share your photos and stories before, during and after the event whether on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or what ever social media channel you prefer! This whole voting thing is squarely in our sweet spot, so let's get the word out far and wide!
