                     August 2017
Greetings,

Fairfax County will hold a  special countywide election on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 to fill a vacant at-large seat on the
Fairfax County School Board. The winner
of this election will serve for the remainder of the seat's term, which expires on December  31, 2019.

Absentee voting is already underway! The last day to absentee vote in person is Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the  Fairfax County Government Center from 9:00am - 5:00pm.

On Special Election Day (Tuesday, August 29, 2017), polls will be open from 6:00am - 7:00pm.

Five Things to Know to Vote:
  1. Review your sample ballot.
  2. The election is countywide at all 243 precincts; check your polling location.
  3. Bring a valid form of photo ID to vote.
  4. Fairfax County Public Schools will be open on Tuesday, August 29, which is the second day of classes. If your voting precinct is located in a school, you are encouraged to vote before or after school hours (if possible) and to postpone voting during the times when school buses are dropping off or picking up students.
  5. Check election results online after 7 p.m. (It may take some time for results to come in with 243 precincts reporting.)
