The "Heatwave Jazz & Show Band"
will perform an exciting free concert on Friday, November 25 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Old Town La Quinta Event Lawn. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and your family and friends - you won't want to miss the show this dynamic group of young, local musicians puts on!
Sponsored through the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coachella Valley and under he direction of Jim Little, the "Heatwave Jazz & Show Band" fires up a hot mix of music from the old sounds of Count Basie to the upbeat tunes of Black Eyed Peas. They have performed with World-class Artists such as Mark Schulman, Adriana Balic, Jude Crossen, Dr. Thom Mason and many more. The band members' ages range from 13 to 18 years-old, but their sound carries of experienced musicians.

The 7th season of Art Under the Umbrellas continues along the closed-off streets of Old Town La Quinta on Saturday, November 26th with 80 artists presenting newly created works in painting, glass, ceramic, jewelry, wood, sculpture, photography, fiber and mixed media.
Steve Madaio & Friends will entertain art patrons with live music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Don't miss an enjoyable day outdoors perusing artist wares, exploring the unique Old Town shops and dining in Old Town restaurants. Art patrons will find quality artwork, while tourists will discover treasured mementos. Bring your family, friends and out-of-town guests and also enjoy browsing the unique shops in Old Town; have a relaxing brunch or lunch at your favorite Old Town restaurant, unwind at happy hour with a glass of wine - and perhaps linger longer into the evening and enjoy dinner and live music.
This will be the second of eight Art Under the Umbrella events planned in the 2011/2012 season. The series continues on the following Saturdays: December 3, 2011; January 14, February 11, February 18, March 24 and March 31, 2012. Admission and parking is free. This year, La Quinta Arts Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in service to its non-profit mission of "Promoting and Cultivating the Arts," through which $1 million has been awarded in college scholarships to visual art majors. _____________________________________________________________________________

Old Town La Quinta, which is comprised of small businesses, invites local residents to support its many one-of-a-kind merchants on Saturday, November 26 and enjoy a free gift certificate promotion.
Old Town La Quinta will issue a $20 gift certificate for purchases totaling $100 or more made at Old Town La Quinta retail stores on Saturday, November 26, 2011 only. To get your $20 gift certificate, bring your qualifying retail receipts totaling $100 or more to The Wine Bar at Old Town, 78015 Main Street on Saturday, November 26, 2011. The $20 gift certificates are redeemable at participating Old Town shops, restaurants and services. (Receipts can be cumulative. Limit one $20 gift certificate issued per person, not redeemable for cash. Gift certificates will be issued only on November 26, 2011.)
