Jean Paul Mollet Pouilly Fume Les Sables Label
Jean-Paul Mollet

The market is utterly awash in well-made, simple and enjoyable Sauvignon Blancs. They are coming from all over the Southern Hemisphere and deliver bright acids, citrus and gooseberry notes and clean gulpable finishes. Every once in a blue moon a "serious" and highly complex example comes from the Southern Hemisphere and a few significant examples emit from California, albeit the pricing is usually stiff and the oak is too much in play.

It's no secret that the world's greatest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc hail from the Loire Valley, and to put an even sharper point on it, the AOCs of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume. Today we present one of the elite... delicious, complex and age-worthy single vineyard Pouilly Fume but there's a twist - we are offering it at a price that is typical of a good Touraine Blanc, big brand New Zealand SBs, or the ubiquitous Sterling Sauvignon Blanc. Please don't hesitate if you are a Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc fan, eat Chevre regularly or just want to drink well all summer.

"Single -vineyard Sauvignon Blanc from the "sand dune" esque Les Sables vineyard - composed of sandy marl and crushed shells - the classic overturned sea bed effect which imparts the classic minerality/salinity Richness and texture here with a touch of fresh soap and herbal notes over a touch of stone-fruit. Crisp acidity with granny smith apple and lemon zest. Great example that will only improve. You could lay this down for a decade without issue."

Throughout the course of the year we come across many wines that are simply too limited to offer out to our entire database. So....we will be creating some new email offerings for those who are interested. If you would like to receive targeted offers from us regarding highly rated, allocated, or new items...just let us know! We will be creating three new lists - Italy, France and the US of A. Just reply to this email and let us know which list you would like to be added to - and we will take care of the rest! Thank you for your consideration and fear not - we won't bombard you with additional emails! Just something intriguing every now and again...

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.
