PRESS RELEASE
Big Picture Learning's NBA Math Hoops CEO
chosen for Echoing Green Fellowship

PROVIDENCE, RI (June 18, 2012)

Big Picture Learning is pleased to announce that KHALIL FULLER of NBA Math Hoops - a Big Picture Learning initiative was chosen for the Echoing Green 2012 Black Male Achievement Fellowship. He was one of eight out of over 1,200 applicants to be accepted and is the youngest Echoing Green Fellow ever selected in the organization's 25 year history.

The BMA Fellowship will give Khalil a $75,000 stipend and technical assistance over 18 months to help him build his organization, as well as access to technical support, pro bono partnerships, and a community of like-minded social entrepreneurs.

NBA Math Hoops leverages the influence of the NBA and WNBA amongst our nation's youth to generate excitement for learning math through a board game. We have teamed up with the NBA as well as Hasbro on this project. In 2010 Hasbro produced 30 prototypes of the game, which were used in a pilot study. The pilot exceeded all expectations, with students' math scores improving 51% after using NBA Math Hoops. Hasbro and Hasbro Community Relations are donating enough Classroom Kits to give 15,000 students the NBA Math Hoops experience next school year.
