Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment Survey

In October 2018, Catholic bishops and young adults from all over the world will meet in Rome for a synod focusing on “Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment.”

In preparation for this major synod on youth, Pope Francis wants to gather input from the Catholic faithful. Consequently, the Diocese of Cleveland has made available a survey to gather information on the current state of youth & young adults that will be included as part of the pre-synod discernment document.  All are invited and encouraged to take this short survey.

June 6, 2017: 1:00pm ET
June 6, 2017: 7:30pm ET
Order code:  VWFCI03    $15

“The rite of initiation is suited to a spiritual journey of adults that varies according to the many forms of God’s grace, the free cooperation of individuals, the action of the Church and the circumstances of time and place” (RCIA 5).  No two stories are alike. No two individuals are the same.   Throughout this journey, the Church expects prayerful reflection and discernment of God’s will.    How can pastors, sponsors, and catechists offer effective pastoral conversations which aid in this reflection?   This workshop will look at moments when the RCIA presumes a necessary discernment and address methods for doing so.

Maintaining an Evangelizing Presence Webinar

June 13, 2017 at 2pm EDT

Evangelization depends greatly on the content of our proclamation (the Kerygma). But, the effectiveness of evangelization also depends upon how the Kerygma is proclaimed. Our attitude, demeanor, and disposition all communicate something. A great deal of evangelization takes place tacitly through actions that communicate openness to the other and demonstrate Christ’s love. We are called to exercise a ‘ministry of presence’. But, we must work hard to ensure that our presence is one that truly exhibits the Gospel and not one that leads others away from Christ.

This Webinar is in collaboration with the National Conference of Catechetical Leadership, and the speakers represent the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and the Diocese of Charlestown.

Resources from the Catholic Apostolate Center

Pope Francis, in his Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, reminds each of

us that we are Missionary Disciples and that "in all the baptized, from first to last, the sanctifying power of the Spirit is at work, impelling us to evangelization" (Evangelii Gaudium 119). To be Missionary Disciples is to go out and evangelize, but how do we evangelize today? The Catholic Apostolate Center is pleased to offer many resources about how to evangelize in today's culture, including:
