SIGN UP FOR PRESCHOOL AND KINDERGARTEN ONLINE NOW

Kindergarten Registration is now available online.  Kindergarten in Brownsburg is a full day program.  In order to register for kindergarten, students need to turn 5 years old by August 1, 2014.  We ask all parents of incoming kindergarten students to register as soon as possible.  This allows us time to meet students, provide building tours, and to staff accordingly.

The Brownsburg Early Childhood Center is also available on online.  The BECC provides high quality early childhood programming for children ages 3-5.  A half day preschool program is offered for two, three, or five days a week.  The BECC also offers a full day child care program, which includes a half day of preschool.

LAST DAY FOR STUDENTS - JUNE 5, 2014
In one of the most challenging winters in recent memory, Brownsburg Community School Corporation has missed five school days with the most recent on February 5.  In January, we announced that four of those days would be made up on June 2, 3, 4, and 5 in accordance with the official school calendar. After examining a number of options and talking with parents and teachers, we have decided to apply for the State's automatic waiver of one instructional day.  Therefore, the last day of school for students will be Thursday, June 5.

Your patience as we have worked through these details is appreciated.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact Dr. Snapp at jsnapp@brownsburg.k12.in.us

FIT & HEALTHY WITH IU HEALTH WEST HOSPITAL
The BCSC partnership with Indiana University Health goes far beyond athletic training and building sponsorships.  IU Health and Methodist Sports Medicine will be sharing helpful information in our Spotlight Newsletter each month.

"Race" Season = Screening Reminder
Did you know that almost four million babies are born in America each year?  That means about two million women will turn 40 in 2014.  And at IU Health West, we hope each of those two million women will get a mammogram this year.  Clinical exams combined with screening mammograms are able to detect breast cancer at its earliest stage, when treatment is most successful.  Our experts and the American Cancer Society recommend annual mammograms for women 40+.  If you have a family history of breast cancer, an earlier start to regular screening may be recommended.

With Central Indiana's Komen Race for the Cure coming up on April 12, it's a good time lace up your walking shoes...and buckle down to make the call for a mammogram appointment.
