Parents and guardians of current BCSC eight graders are invite to an introductory meeting at Brownsburg High School THIS MONDAY at 6:30pm in the BHS Auditorium. Please enter door #1 or #16. The Team 2019 administrative team will be talking about the Team concept at BHS, the transition process to high school, and give information on scheduling freshman classes.

FAFSA DAY FOR THE CLASS OF 2015, FEBRUARY 10

FAFSA Day Information When: Tuesday, February 10th Time: 10:00 am - 7:00 pm Where: BHS Media Center - Lab B (located in main building, not Senior Academy) What to bring: Orange folders including important student & parent financial documents Door to enter: Door 1 Questions regarding BHS FAFSA Day: E-mail [email protected] Volunteers from our Hendricks County sponsors will be here to assist families in completing the online FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). March 10, 2015 is the deadline to file the FAFSA in order to be fully considered for all state and federal financial aid. This means to be eligible for aid from Indiana you must have your FAFSA to the state by March 10th. Please also note that some college/universities have their own FAFSA filing deadline dates. Some schools have FAFSA deadlines that are prior to March 10th. Please check the financial aid websites of schools to ensure their FAFSA deadlines are met, as well as for any other additional forms they may require.

BCSC STUDENTS ARE (MORE THAN) 100 DAYS SMARTER!

| In what has become a fun tradition for BCSC students, our schools celebrated the 100th day of school on January 21st. This is a milestone day, especially for our kindergarten and first grade students, to mark their growth and accomplishments. Thank you to all the parents and guardians who help with this special occasion by helping their students find 100 "things" to wear!

BHS STUDENTS PREPARE FOR THIS YEAR'S RILEY DANCE MARATHON

Students at BHS kicked off the Riley Dance Marathon fundraising efforts last week. The event is set for February 27th at 7pm. CLICK HERE to support Riley Hospital for Children through the hard work of our Bulldogs!

BHS DRAMA DEPARTMENT SHINES AT STATE CONFERENCE
|
| Fifteen BHS Theatre students participated in the State Theatre festival last month at the University of Indianapolis. They attended numerous shows and workshops, auditioned for college recruiters, and competed in individual performance and technical events.
Carly Butler, Jolie Manning, and Rowan Squire-Willey received excellent ratings for their monologue performances. Rowan also received numerous callbacks on her college audition and two performance scholarship offers. Morgan Hagerman, Courtney Bonness, and Ian Gonzales received an excellent rating for their group acting performance. Dinah Ferguson received a superior rating for her costume design. Erica Colarusso and Alex Harrison also received a superior rating in duo acting and qualified for the final round of competition, placing them in the top 5 of their category. CONGRATULATIONS! |

BCSC FIFTH GRADERS TREATED TO FINE ARTS SHOWCASE BY SIXTH GRADE

| BCSC fifth graders were treated to performances by the sixth grade BEMS/BWMS orchestra, choir, and band on Friday to help them choose their path for middle school next year. The process continues as parents and fifth grade students interested band or orchestra attend open enrollment meetings at BEMS on March 3, 4, 9, & 10 from 5pm-8pm. These meetings will help them to decide on their instrument. |

DECA STUDENTS AT BHS HOST HYPNOTIST TO RAISE MONEY FOR MDA
|
BHS DECA is hosting a hypnotist show that will entertain all ages, Wednesday, February 4 at 7pm in the BHS Auditorium. (Door #16) Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. They can also be purchased through BHS DECA. The profit from the event will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). DECA has a long association with the MDA, creating awareness and raising funds for the organization. BHS DECA's first project for the organization was in 1980.

BHS CHOIRS PRESENT CABARET CONCERT FEBRUARY 12

The BHS Choirs are preparing for the show choir season and invite the public to their final season preview at the annual Cabaret Concert at the BHS Auditorium, Thursday, February 12th at 7pm. Tickets are $6 at the door. In addition to the contest performances from Starlight Voices and Spotlight Singers & Co, nearly 20 individual and duet acts will entertain as well.

DELAWARE TRAIL TEACHER NAMED TEACHER OF THE MONTH
|
Mrs. Deb Sprinkle, a first grade teacher at Delaware Trail Elementary, was honored as the February Teacher of the Month by the Hendricks County ICON. Mrs. Sprinkle is pictured with Bill Estes Ford GM Andy Wernsman and student Colin Biehn who wrote the winning essay honoring his teacher. Students can their send name, address and telephone number along with a 100 word summary of why their teacher should be honored as the Bill Estes Ford/ICON Teacher of the Month. Nominations should be submitted to: [email protected]. Mrs. Sprinkle is the third BCSC teacher honored this school year. Congratulations also to past honorees Mrs. Lisa McMullen (Cardinal) and Mrs. Bonnie Hobbins (Brown).

BAND, ORCHESTRA, & GUARD GARAGE SALE ITEM DROP-OFF

The Band/Orchestra/Guard Boosters are seeking item donations for the 10th Annual Garage Sale. Unpriced items can be dropped off at the Brownsburg High School Cafeteria - Door #4 on Friday, February 27th from 3pm - 9pm.
They are looking for clothing, toys, household items, furniture, books, electronics (no box TVs or computer monitors, please), decorations, craft supplies, bikes, shoes, tools, kitchen sinks and more! Donation receipts will be given.
