BCSC ISTEP+ RESULTS TOPS IN THE STATE
Brownsburg Community School Corporation is number one in the state in the percentage of students passing ISTEP+ mathematics, English/language arts and both portions of the assessment.  We recognize that ISTEP+ is just one indicator of our students' academic performance.  Classroom assessments and other external measures all yield the same results - our students perform at the highest levels in the state and achieve great things in the classroom every day.  All of this is a tribute to our entire staff who touch the lives of our students each day from the bus to the classroom to the learning lab to the cafeteria and all places in between.  We recognize that if our students learned in environments that were only focused on test scores but did not care for each other, we would have missed the mark.  In Brownsburg we believe and practice that caring relationships are as important as achievement on any test, and prove it is possible to have relationships and results.

NEXT STEPS OF YOUR STUDENT'S EDUCATIONAL JOURNEY

Join us as Assistant Superintendent Kat Jessup and Brownsburg high school and middle school principals share information about the many opportunities your student will be able to experience as they move forward from elementary to middle school to high school.  The presentation will cover a variety of topics including: the different diploma types offered, Advanced Placement classes, Dual College Credit, Area 31 technical offerings, secondary math progression, fine arts, club opportunities, job training for life skills students, and more.  We hope you can make it for this discussion to help prepare your family for what's next.  You are welcome to attend either session as they will be identical.

BHS CONSTRUCTION NEWS

In early 2017, parents in grades 6-12 will start getting quarterly updates about the renovation and expansion project at Brownsburg High School.  These updates will provide important information as this project moves forward.  The project is currently in what is called Phase 1A.  This phase includes the purchase of new equipment for the updated mechanical room for the renovated building.  While this phase has no impact to students at BHS, the project is underway.
