Donations from Friday's Riley Dance Marathon and last fall's Riley Week total more than $22,000 donated to Riley Hospital through the efforts of BHS CHAIN Link student government this year!

Next Community Engagement Session - March 15, 6:30pm
at White Lick Elementary
 
Our next Community Engagement Session is scheduled for March 15th in the White Lick Elementary cafeteria.  This session will focus on our current grade level configurations and feeder patterns.  Attendees will also see cost projections for several different suggestions from the community that would address our growing school district and aging facilities.  All are welcome.  CLICK HERE to review materials from past sessions and get more information about future meetings. 
Last month 18 BHS students attended Staatskongress (German State Convention) at Ball State along with approximately 500 other students from 21 Indiana high schools. In addition to excelling in the competitions, the student enjoyed music from the German bands.
BWMS Spanish students Ashley Margetts, Daylan Segura, Katelyn Moore, Alyssa Johnson, and Amanda Prichard recently won the Toro Trivia middle school division and were the 1st team in the history of competition to achieve a perfect score.
Band students excel at statewide contests
BEMS band students Jackson Moss and Lydia Stellmach earned Gold-Superior ratings at the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) State Solo & Ensemble Contest last weekend.  Final results are not compiled, but 19 solos and 30 ensembles represented BHS at ISSMA state on Saturday.   

BHS Jazz placed first in the Indiana State University Jazz Festival with the outstanding solo award going to senior Andy Vorndran.

Senior trombone Conor Nolan (2nd year) and sophomore tenor sax Jonathan Heidegger (alternate) represented BHS proudly at the Indiana Bandmaster Association All State Band event. 
The BHS Wrestling team has a STATE CHAMP at 138 - sophomore Brayton Lee!  The outstanding performance of Brayton and his teammates placed the team SECOND IN THE STATE.  Bulldog state wrestlers: 106 Ty Mills - 3rd, 113 Nick Weaver - 8th, 120 Blake Mulkey - 3rd, 138 Brayton Lee - 1st, 170 Nathan Walton - 3rd, 182 CJ Damler - 4th, 195 Isaac McCormick - State Qualifier.
BEMS' National Junior Honor Society raised $2,230 for The Water Project, a non-profit organization that provides communities in sub-Saharan Africa with access to clean water. BEMS students and staff participated in the Water Challenge (giving up soda, juice, coffee and other drinks for two weeks, then donating the money saved from drinking water instead) and also held a dodgeball tournament.

Community leaders like Travis Tranbarger (at Brown Elementary above) from Brownsburg Parks volunteer to read to Brownsburg kindergarten students with Duke Energy's "Real Men Read" program.
Reagan Elementary Student Council representatives use items purchased with a grant from Wal-Mart to prepare 60 care bags for local homeless people in our community.
