BHS teacher in Top Ten for Indiana Teacher of the Year

The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has announced that BCSC Teacher of the Year, Brownsburg High School German teacher Jennifer (J.J.) Steed, is in the Top Ten for Indiana Teacher of the Year.  The IDOE expects to announce the 2017 Teacher of the Year in October.  J.J. has been teaching at BHS for 17 years.  "Frau Steed" has been instrumental in the success of the German American Partner Program that sends Brownsburg students to Germany every other year and brings German students to Brownsburg for one-of-a-kind learning experiences. 


November 8th Election Includes Three School Board Seats      

Election Day is November 8th.  There will be many offices for which to vote this year, including three of the five seats on the Brownsburg Board of School Trustees.  The community is cordially invited to these events to be held at the Administration Building (enter door #7.)

FORD DRIVE 4 UR SCHOOL EVENT

Make a donation to BEF and the Brownsburg Schools without even opening your wallet!  Join us on Thursday, September 8th between 2 - 7 pm at East Middle School and test drive a 2017 Ford.  No hassle, no obligation.  Your drive will earn a $53.00 donation for BEF, plus the first 100 drivers will earn an ADDITIONAL $50 per drive, thanks to Ally Bank.  And, if you would like to take a second test drive in a 2017 Ford Escape, you can earn $10 more for BEF!  The first 150 drivers will receive a goodie bag  Hope to see you there!

BCSC Food & Clothing Pantry Open on the 1st-3rd-5th
Thursday of the Month at ALPHA
The BCSC Food Pantry launched in the summer of 2014 through a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank.  Thanks to the hard work of community and staff volunteers and Life Skills students in the Collaborators for Success program at BHS, a clothing pantry was added this spring.  BCSC families have also contributed donations to help make the pantry such a great resource for our community.  

The pantry is open from 3:00-5:30pm on the 1st/3rd/5th Thursdays of the month.  Visitors can use door #7 at the ALPHA/Harris Academy building, 725 C South Green Street.

White Lick Elementary students invited Brownsburg Police Department & BCSC PD officers over to present them with posters that were made on "super hero day" at the school and signed by every student.

The Sound of Brownsburg Marching Band and Guard gave fans a preview of their fall show at the opening football game. The public is invited to the BHS Marching competition September 17th. Gates open at 2pm with the competition starting at 3pm.
16th Annual B.E.F. Yankee Candle Sale  
Packets will come home with all elementary and middle school students on Friday, September 9th.  Products will be in before the holidays.  Please support our biggest fundraiser of the year!  Money raised will help fund classroom grants and student scholarships.  CLICK HERE to see grant recipients for the 2016-2017 school year and 2016 scholarship recipients.
