QRIS Program Spotlight: Sharing the Message of Quality Care using your star Rating to promote YOUR program

The buzz in the field of Early Care and Education is QRIS, and not just here but across the nation. Oregon's Quality Rating and Improvement System is becoming increasingly visible as more programs achieve a star rating. Here are a few ways that we can all help families and community member's better understand QRIS:

Grow It, Try It, Like It!

Preschool Fun with Fruits and Vegetables is a garden-themed nutrition education kit for child care programs. The kit includes seven booklets that feature fun activities through an imaginary garden that can be used to introduce fruits and vegetables to children.  Kit includes a CD-rom with supplemental information and a DVD with hands on lesson plans and eduation activities. 1) Post your QRIS certificate in a visible location

  2) Share the QRIS WEBSITE for families on your flyers, bulletin boards and in your newsletter. At this website parents can learn more about QRIS and search for a star rated program by zip code.

3) Include your star rating in all of your ads! Both child vacancies and job postings should showcase your achievement! Craigslist ads are a great way to spread the word about your star rating and what it means to be a QUALITY program Read More
