 DEAN'S MESSAGE
Spring semester brings news of innovation and excitement, and I am pleased that momentum continues to grow for graduate education at Morehead State University.  This was clearly seen during the fall semester, when the number of students completing a graduate certification program increased by 79%, with the calendar year of 2015 boasting an overall increase of 35% for completion of graduate certification programs.  The good news continued with the first ever winter academic session held at MSU (December 14 - January 11). The record showed that 26% of the total student enrollment (undergrad and graduate) were graduate students taking advantage of the ten online graduate courses offered in a variety of disciplines from all four academic colleges.

FEATURED PROGRAM:
DOCTOR OF EDUCATION: ADULT & HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERSHIP

Morehead State University (MSU) has recently added the Adult and Higher Education Leadership area of specialization to its Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program. In addition to the core leadership, applied, and capstone courses, which are inherently flexible to accommodate myriad individual student foci, this specialization features required courses in the history and philosophy of adult and higher education as well as international adult and higher education and advanced instructional design to afford students aspiring to prominent leadership positions valuable depth and breadth of perspective in key areas of theory and practice.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

In May of 2016, Matthew Henry-Marshall (pictured right) will be completing his Master of Science in Management Information Systems degree and planning out his future career goals. When asked about his career aspirations, Henry explained, "I enjoy making life easier for others and always staying up-to-date with the newest technology." This is a major motivation as to why  Henry is hopeful of obtaining a position at a hospital or in government doing technical support as he considers technology to be more than just a career for him.
