Leon Harris, Research Associate and Mandel School Doctoral Candidate, started as a Graduate Assistant nearly nine years ago. He's now close to earning his PhD in Social Justice and serves as Project Manager to various community based research projects.

Pilot Test of StandUp
Senior Research Associate Jane Timmons Mitchell, PhD and colleagues recently published an article examining a pilot study  conducted with high school students to evaluate the potential efficacy of StandUp, a three-session online program that delivers assessments and individualized guidance matched to bullying experiences and stage of readiness for using healthy relationship skills. 

Multisystemic Therapy 
MST is an intensive family and community-based treatment program addressing the multiple determinants of serious anti-social behaviors in juvenile offenders. Our Center for Innovative Practices is a leading consultant in providing training and technical assistance to local, state and nationwide agencies.

New Staff & Promotions
The Begun Center recently promoted  Krystel Tossone to Center Statistician.  In addition to providing statistical expertise to various projects, she will be focusing on center-based work such as providing statistical workshops for and mentoring staff,  holding office hours for statistical consulting, assisting with our dissemination efforts, and developing methods/analysis sections for grants.

Dr. Rachel Lovell, Senior Research Associate at the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, will be one of the speakers at the TEDxAkron event on Saturday May 20th, 2017 at the Goodyear Theater in Akron, Ohio.
