Vendors Deadline Today

West Park's Homecoming Celebration, The Hooley on Kamms Corners™, features great food, live music, children's shows & activities, Irish dancers, pipes & drums, and more. The seventh annual event runs from noon to 8 p.m. on Lorain Avenue between Rocky River Drive and West 165th Street on Saturday, May 14.

Today, March 31, is the application deadline for West Park business owners to participate. After today, a $50 late fee will apply. New and home-based businesses as well as non-profit organizations and churches are welcome! Join all who have already taken advantage of this prime opportunity to get in front of some 30,000 visitors at this popular community event.

The Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF) program guide is  available online here. KCDC is offering a limited number of film vouchers on a first come, first served basis to our followers who respond to contests on Facebook and Twitter. Follow us there for announcements on how to try for the vouchers.

Enjoy the Best of the West on April 7

Kamm's Corners Farmers Market was voted one of 50 finalists in the 2016 Best of the West by Cleveland Magazine. What a fitting way for the market to enter its 10th summer season! Join the party on Thursday evening, April 7, sampling food and products from the finalists, plus catered appetizers, local wines and microbrews, and a variety of entertainment at LaCentre Conference & Banquet Facility. Advance tickets are $20 available online here, and include a one-year subscription to Cleveland Magazine. Tickets are also available at the door for $30. Place your vote for our farmers market and other favorites!

Warm Days Call for Cold Treats and Fast Favorites
 
The Cone Zone, 4081 Rocky River Drive, opened Monday under new ownership. Purchased recently by David Ford of Weber's Premium Custard and Ice Cream, the menu will remain unchanged for now. "First I want to learn what the neighborhood wants, needs, and likes," said David. He invites everyone to help him through what he considers his training period by stopping by to purchase a cool treat or quick meal and saying hello.

Changes Come to the Corner
 
Kamm's Cafe, 17209 Lorain Avenue, offers fresh food, cold drinks, and good times. The former Ironwood Cafe spot is now managed by Eric Datchler. He said, "We are honoring Ironwood Cafe gift cards in a show of good faith as we welcome all to try our new menu offerings."

Teens Invited to Summer Job Jumpstart Training & Job Fair

Teens looking for summer employment are encouraged to register now for the April 9 Summer Job Jumpstart event at Gunning Recreation Center, 16700 Puritas Avenue. It's a great chance to get tips and tricks on how to land a job AND meet employers looking to hire 14 to 19 year-old youths. Participants may bring a resume or create one at the event. Employment history dates figured out ahead of time will make it easier to fill-out job applications on site.
