SPRINGING FORWARD
opens at Longyear Gallery
Opening this week at Margaretville's Longyear Gallery is "Springing Forward," a group show featuring the work of Longyear Gallery members. The Artists' Reception will take place Saturday, March 28th, from 3-6 p.m.
The works on display will include new work by Longyear's 24 members who each work in different media, including oil, watercolor, acrylic, mixed media, ceramics, collage, and photography. Longyear members include artists Robert Axelrod, Janice DeMarino, Ann Lee Fuller, Elaine Grandy, Robin Halpern, John Hopkins, David Leveson, Margaret Leveson, Helane Levine-Keating, Patrice Lorenz, Frank Manzo, Helene Manzo, Amy Masters, Elaine Mayes, Chris Moore, Tom Rapin, Marilyn Silver, Nat Thomas, Gerda van Leeuwen, Linda Varian, Corneel Verlaan, Ros Welchman, Susan Whittenburg, and Ellen Wong. "After such a long, cold, and difficult winter, we're very eager to celebrate spring and rebirth," notes Longyear member, photographer Helane Levine-Keating.
Upcoming spring and early summer Longyear Gallery shows include the April 24th-May 18th solo show of Elaine Grandy, with the Artists' Reception on Saturday, April 25th from 3-6 p.m.; the May 22nd-June 15th solo show of Margaret Leveson, with the Artists' Reception on Saturday, May 23rd from 3-6 p.m.; and the June 19th-July 13th solo show of Helene Manzo, with the artists' reception on June 20th from 3-6 p.m. All featured artist solo shows will be accompanied by group shows featuring Longyear members.
Longyear Gallery's show "Springing Forward" will be on display from March 27th through April 19th.
