Weekend Retreat a Total Success

On February 19th through the 21st Happehatchee Center hosted World-Renowned Author Jean Shinoda Bolen, MD and Emmy Award-Winning Flautist Kat Epple.

Our weekend with Jean Shinoda Bolen,  "Goddesses in Everywoman- Artemis  and Compass for Activism with Heart", was a total success.  Happehatchee was honored to host such an enlightened Sage to help us navigate our future "wild and wonderful lives" An amazing  group of people attended the weekend which started Friday night with the magical flute music of world renowend musician Kat  Epple. The elegant wine, teas and cheese reception and concert with Kat was followed by a riveting talk by Jean about the Archetype of Artemis as activist, protector of nature and of women that are rising now.   Click here to read more...

Southwest Florida is facing its share of Water Woes this year, so Happehatchee and  The Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (CHNEP) are working together to educate our youth on watershed protection.

A half dozen students from local Lee County High Schools have been gathering at Happehatchee once or twice a month on a Saturday to collect data on the health of the Estero River and plan an educational program that will be delivered to local middle schoolers this summer as a week-long camp.     Click here to read more...
Wise Women Project Update

The WISE Women Project (Working to Improve through Self Employment) at Happehatchee Center is helping local women and families learn many important skills.  Women gather once a week at Happehatchee Center to learn many skills. Transportation is one of the many obstacles to employment.

Lee Tran Bus Driver "Freddy" spoke with women, while their children listened  to an orientation to the local public transportation system.  This was part of the WISE Women Project class on January 12, 2016, and the Lee Tran Public Education Office brought the bus and Spanish-speaking driver to the Covered Wagon Trailer Park, on US41 in Estero.  Click here to read more...
