Grace Dexter, diagnosed with epilepsy at 11 months old, encourages everyone to join in the fun at Matty's Memorial 5k on Saturday, May 23!

Grace is just one of the many children who had a blast at Camp Matty during April vacation!  Thanks to the generous support of the We Promise Foundation and other donors, Matty Fund families welcomed spring vacation at Camp Matty, a therapeutic horseback riding camp for children with epilepsy.   Participants enjoyed horseback riding as well as other fun activities planned by The Matty Fund staff throughout the week.

This is also the time we pay tribute to our Mothers and in celebration of her special day, we ask you to honor your mother by acknowledging her lifelong devotion to her family and recognizing her role as matriarch and caregiver. Most especially, we ask you to remember the mothers who are caring for those children and the families affected by epilepsy. Your gift will enable The Matty Fund to continue to provide support, education and research throughout the region to those who battle epilepsy every day...including Mom. Click here to make your tax deductible donation to The Matty Fund.

We're looking forward to seeing everyone at our 13th Matty's Memorial 5k on the 23rd!

Meet Kate!
Our New Director
of Development
The Matty Fund welcomes its new director of development,
Kate Spinella.  She is a native Rhode Islander and has spent over ten years in fundraising and development for both educational institutions and non-profits. Kate came to The Matty Fund, first as a constituent as her daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2013, and then as a board member in January 2015. Given her expertise, when The Matty Fund's longtime director of development left in April, Kate was the perfect person to fill the position. Kate currently lives in Portsmouth with her husband, three dogs and two cats and is enjoying life as an empty nester, as her two daughters both attend college out of state. Please join us in welcoming Kate to The Matty Fund staff!
Making News
