Houston Ground Angels
Management Review
March 2017
From Tony Castiglie, Vice President & Treasurer

Thus far, 409 Missions have been run this year by 54 Volunteers serving 247 Patients and/or Companions.  As always, those we serve are always so grateful for helping in relieving some of the stress associated with going to M.D. Anderson for treatment.  Leading volunteers thus far:

1.     C harles Whitworth         45
2.     David LaFargue             23
3.     Missy Callan                  21
4.     Tony Larosa                  21
5.     Jerry Cavanaugh          18
6.     Charles Gibson             18
7.     Paulette Blackburn       17
8.     Kathy Broussard           15
9.     David Niemand             15

The demand for our services continues to increase & as always, we could use some additional volunteers.  After Angel Flight dissolved their Ground Crew, we have experienced a big increase for our services from Angel Flight patients.  As always, we do the best we can.  We encourage all volunteers to assist us in our recruiting efforts.

To every volunteer, "Thank You" for being part of this wonderful organization and making it the success that it is.  2017 is going to be another good year.

Sincerely,
Tony

Houston Ground Angels' Outing
to The Museum of Natural Science's Planetarium
and John P. McGovern Centennial Gardens

February 18, was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, warm and sunny! We had approx. 40 volunteers, their spouses and friends attend the Planetarium and Centennial Gardens.

The Planetarium movie had some of the greatest 3-D photography, without special glasses. After the film, we  walked across the street to the John P. McGovern Centennial Gardens to see the budding flowers and the many interesting areas. It was a wonderful day and it was great to see so many of our volunteers!

We would like to thank our sponsor of this event, Mr. David Lafargue, and he is a new Ground Angel. Thank you David! It is great to have you as part of the Houston Ground Angels' family!

It was a really nice day to be out and about.
