GREETINGS!

The Department of Parks and Recreation is still taking registration for many spring activities such as T-ball, baseball, softball, soccer, swim lessons, and skateboard clinics. Programs are filling up, so do not delay in registering! Registration for summer activities such as day camps, tennis clinics, and more begins in April. Also, check out what is happening at our Civic Centers. The Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink will soon be closing for the season, so get your skating in while you still can! See below for information on the new Greenwich Town Pool which is under construction at Byram Park. Help support the pool by buying a brick from the Junior League of Greenwich. Spring Soccer

Mighty Mites Spring Soccer will be held on Saturdays for ages 3-9 years. Registration is now open. Ages 9-12 years can play soccer on Saturdays with Soccer Extreme. Soccer Extreme also operates clinics on Mondays and Fridays after school in the spring for ages 4 through 12. You can register now at Soccer Extreme. All programs begin in April.
T-ball, Baseball, Softball

Registration is now open for Co-ed T-Ball which is for ages 4 and 5. Six year-olds can register for Small Fry I Baseball and seven year-olds can register for Small Fry II Baseball. We also have an instructional baseball league for ages 8 and 9, Junior Baseball.
Girls ages 7 and 8 can parcipate in our Softball Junior Division. Girls ages 9-14 can play in our Babe Ruth League in the 10U, 12U or 14U division.
Tennis and Pickleball

Registration is now open for Indoor Spring Pickleball. Adults can register for one, two, or three days per week. Registration is CLOSED for the 4th Annual Greenwich Pickleball Round Robin Tournament.

Also, the Tennis Summer Schedule is now available for youth and adult clinic instruction held in June and July. Tennis passes are needed for play on all 36 public park and school courts.
Spring Swim Lessons

Registration is open for swim lessons at the Greenwich Boys and Girls Club pool. Youth ages 4 and up can register for 8 half-hour lessons from pre-school aged beginners through intermediate levels. Download the registration form. Classes will be held on Saturday afternoons beginning March 24.
Greenwich Skatepark

The NEW Greenwich Skatepark, located at the foot of Arch Street will re-open in the spring. Registration is open for Spring Skateboard Clinics for ages 6-12 years. Registration will open in April for Summer Ramp Camps and Clinics for youth ages 6-14 years.
Summer Activities
Information is now available for our summer camp programs such as Kamp Kairphree for ages 5-12; Greenwich Adventurers for ages 8-15; and Music and Art Camp for those children entering grades 4 through 8. Registration for these programs begins online for Greenwich residents April 1. Register prior to June 1 to pay the early bird discounted rate!
We will also be offering a Skatepark Ramp Camp at our newly constructed concrete skatepark, Swim Lessons at the new Greenwich Pool in Byram Park, and Summer Soccer Clinics. Skatepark information is available above; summer soccer and swim lesson information will be available soon.

Eastern Greenwich Civic Center

The EGCC has much lined up for March including Friday night Roller Skating, ladies strength and conditioning classes, Green Moon Children's Art Studio, Wednesday Painters Group, Tennis for Tots and more. Mark your calendar for the Annual Lion's Club Pancake breakfast on the 10th and the Southern CT Model Train Show on the 11th. Bendheim Western Civic Center

The BWGCC will offer Youth Golf Clinics beginning in April. Current on-going activities incllude Indoor Field Hockey; SEW HAPPY winter sewing machine program; Soccer With Aldwin and the many programs of The Dance Pointe. Adults can participate in exercise classes. Open Co-ed Adult Volleyball is held Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30 PM; the drop-in fee is $4 per evening. Adults can also drop-in to play Pickleball.

Dorothy Hamill Skating Rink

Special Recreation

Abilis meets the needs of people with developmental disabilities. Abilis works in schools, civic organizations, and with families throughout Fairfield County. Their events are posted on their website calendar.

The Stamford JCC offers an inclusive summer day camp called Hand in Hand.

Greenwich Special Olympics offers sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual or physical challenges. Read more.

Gardens

The Greenwich Community Gardens kicks off their 10th year of gardening in Greenwich with their 2018 Garden Plot sign-up days on Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18. Read more.

CT Boating Course

In conjunction with the Greenwich Marine Police, America's Boating Club of Greenwich is offering a Skilled Boater Course, Saturday May 5 or June 9 at Greenwich Police HQ, 11 Bruce Place.

The Recreation Division has job opportunities for spring programs such as Soccer Director, Youth Soccer Instructor, Umpires for Girls Softball, and Christiano Gatekeeper. Tennis positions are posted for jobs from April through August. Summer camp jobs are also posted such as Adventurers Assistant Director, Adventurers Counselor, and Adventurers Director. Check back for summer swim instructor positions for lessons at the Greenwich Pool. Beach and other pool positions are now posted.
Kite Flying Festival

The annual Kite Flying Festival will be held Saturday, April 21 beginning at 11:00 AM at Greenwich Point. The event is co-hosted by Parks and Recreation, Greenwich Arts Council, the Indian Cultural Center of Greenwich, and Smart Kids Toys.
Cos Cob Preschool

Registration is open for the 2018-2019 school year. The preschool program, licensed by the State of CT, is for 3 and 4 year-olds. Download a flyer. Register online or at the EGCC

Senior Center News

Credit & Refund Policy
Credit requests for recreation program registration will be considered if received in writing prior to the start of the program. There is a $15.00 administrative fee for credits. The general policy of the Recreation Division is that we do not process refunds unless a program has been cancelled. Please read all registration information carefully and contact us prior to registering for a program if you have any questions.
Parks and Recreation Foundation
The Greenwich Parks and Recreation Foundation was set up to receive donations, allowing the community citizens and businesses an avenue to donate to the Town of Greenwich Parks & Recreation projects and programs. The foundation is a 501 (c)(3).
Through the Parks & Recreation Foundation, one is able to donate to the Parks and Recreation Scholarship Fund.

Parks & Recreation Department Wide News...
A Press Release was previously emailed to our customers regarding Park Pass Renewals and Password Updates. Complete information is available on our website. As a reminder, proof of Greenwich residency is required once each calendar year for all Parks and Recreation programs. The primary account holder is required to provide two current proofs of Greenwich residence. Acceptable forms of proofs with resident name and Greenwich address are as follows: residential lease, utility bill (gas, electric, water, oil), phone, internet and/or TV service bill (NO cell/wireless phone bills), credit card or bank statement (NO mortgage statement) or valid Driver's License or CT State ID card. All participants, under 25, require a birth certificate or passport on file. All non-residents must provide identification and proof of address. Thank you!
