"We are firmly protected from inside. That is our spirit. We are protected from inside, always, incessantly" -
Not Always So Shunryu Suzuki
Without Hindrance
into the stream of refuge and confidence
Saturday, April 19, 9 am to 12 noon
Carl Cherry Center, Carmel
The retreat is intended for those working with twelve step programs, and is open to all interested in working with afflictive mental habits.
The retreat will focus on the Five Hindrances. The five hindrances are key psychological forces that obscure the natural luminosity and healthy functioning of the mind.
Through talks, discussions and meditation, we will investigate the many points of convergence between the 12-steps and the teaching and practice of Buddhism. Meditation can be a powerful tool in relapse prevention and can become a "positive addiction" that provides a healthy alternative to addictive behaviors.
