Spring is in the air and along with it, many amazing things happening on campus and around town!  Spring Sing is around the corner and our clubs and student groups are getting ready to showcase their talents, the International Film Festival continues from April 19th through May 19th, and our dance ensemble will be performing on April 20-21st at the Downey Theatre, just to name a few. 

You are always welcome back on our campuses and I encourage you to take advantage of all there is to offer within and around our campus community!

Athletics Update:

2018 Hall of Champions Inducted 8 new members

On March 23rd, eight Viking alumni joined the ranks of the LBCC Hall of Champions. The purpose of the Hall of Champions is to recognize individuals and teams who have developed their skills and contributed to the outstanding accomplishments of the LBCC Athletic Program. This year's inductees are:

Dan Frost: Men's Basketball, 1972 & 1973
John Harvey: Football, 1979 &1980
Michelle Nelson: Women's Track & Field, 1995 & 1996
Melissa Soria: Women's Water Polo, 2003 & 2004
Ronald Williams: Track & Field, 1978 & 1979
Bruce Young: Football, 1986 & 1987
Gary Anderson: Men's Basketball, 1970 & 1971
Coach, 1975-2016
Rich Foster: Men's Water Polo 1969 & 1970

LBCC Alumni Association and The LBCC President's Ambassadors team up to help fight cancer!

We welcome your support for Vikings for Life!  This year's event will be held on June 9th, from 9:00 A.M. Saturday through 9:00 A.M. Sunday, June 10th at Millikan High School.  If you want to come, you can walk the track, purchase a luminaria in memory of a loved one, or just make a donation.  All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.  The Alumni Association will have a booth with games and encourage you to come walk, or just mingle with other alumni and friends while supporting a great cause.  Our goal is to reach $10,000 and you can sign up to be a part of our team, make a straight donation, or both.


Congratulations LBCC Alumni to be inducted into the CSULB Distinguished Alumni Family!

On May 3rd, our very own Viking alumns Joyce Capelle, caryn desai, and James Green, will be honored by way of induction into the California State University Long Beach 2018 Distinguished Alumni Awards at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach.  We congratulate you and will be there to show our Viking support!

Visit the Bistro for lunch or a delicious pastry!

The Bistro, run by faculty and students in the Culinary Arts Program, offers food at a fine-dining standard and features a revolving prix fixe menu with a choice of appetizer or salad, entrĂ©e, and dessert for $15, tax and tip included. The menu changes bi-weekly and a vegetarian option is available. Each week The Bistro focuses on cuisine from different regions, such as Asia, Mediterranean, West Coast, Southern, Latin America, or France.  The Bistro is open to the public.

The Bistro seats up to 50 people and reservations are strongly recommended. Walk-ins are available, but seating is not guaranteed. To make a reservation, please contact The Bistro during normal business hours at (562) 938-4757 or email bistro@lbcc.edu.  The Bakery is take out only,

If you are a paid alumni member, email me prior to your reservation at jbourgeois@lbcc.edu and I will email you a complimentary parking pass for the adjacent parking structure!

2nd Annual Foreign Language Film Festival starts April 19th!

The Foreign Language Film Festival at Long Beach City College seeks to provide students and community members a venue to view films in foreign languages as a means of promoting cultural understanding as well as promoting a deeper understanding of contemporary issues.

Be a part of the "Walk of Honor"

The brick walkway in front of the LAC Auditorium provides you with an opportunity to make a unique and charitable imprint at LBCC. Your $150.00 tax-deductible gift will get your name and special message, major, graduation date, etc. etched in a brick, as well as support the LBCC Alumni Association.   You can either download this form and return to the Foundation or select below to order online.
