Confluence
April 2014

Greetings!

With the opening of new exhibition, adventure week camps, and a SOLD OUT Wine and Food Fest, Roberson's 60th Anniversary

is celebrating the arrival of spring in a big way.

If you haven't visited us in a while, be sure to plan a trip soon. "Journey From Our Prehistoric Past" is now on view, located on the second floor of the museum.  This natural history exhibition features fossils and bones from some of New York State's earliest life forms.  We're also presenting a variety of full-dome shows to coincide with the exhibition in our Digital Planetarium.

Explore this edition of Confluence for the latest on other upcoming events and programs.  We look forward to seeing you often in 2014, and thank you again for supporting Roberson for 60 Years!

"Journey From Our Prehistoric Past"
NOW ON VIEW
Roberson Members enjoying the Opening Reception of "Journey From Our Prehistoric Past."
Long before New York became home to deer and fox, bluebird and heron, it was the site of monumental geologic and environmental change.  Change, from the beginning of new life-forms to the formation of vertebrates and later mammals, is the focus of "Journey From Our Prehistoric Past."

In collaboration with The New York State Museum and the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, "Journey From Our Prehistoric Past" features materials of the world's oldest forest fossilized forest, life forms from when parts of what is now New York were undersea, our region's only dinosaur and ice age mammals.

Among the unique natural history items Roberson has on display are the skull and tusks of The Randolph Mammoth.  Discovered 80 years ago, The Randolph Mammoth is one of the most complete mammoth specimens ever found in New York State.
