COLLEGECON, the district's inaugural conference to help middle school students and their families prepare for college, took place on March 4th at Highline College. It was a huge success! 402 students attended various college-readiness workshops throughout the day, along with 188 parents (98 in English workshops and 90 in Spanish workshops). Students learned about what it takes to go to college: everything from graduating high school, to applying for college, to figuring out financial assistance. They made pledges to keep up their attendance, earn good GPAs, graduate high school, and pursue higher education.

The team in charge of COLLEGECON is looking forward to an even bigger event next year.
