For 40 years, FCA has been helping families and friends who are caregivers for adult loved ones with chronic, disabling conditions such as Alzheimer’s and other dementias, Parkinson’s, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Stroke.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, as one of 11 California Caregiver Resource Centers, we provide personalized assessment of an individual’s care situation, referral, educational opportunities, telephone support, and occasional respite services.

Nationally, FCA’s National Center for Caregiving is a voice for caregivers. NCC advocates for caregiver recognition and policy in areas such as caregiver tax credits, paid family leave, caregiver needs during hospital discharge, aging and long-term supportive services, the Affordable Care Act, and more.

FCA’s newest innovation is the recently-launched FCA CareJourney; a free, and easy-to-use online application. Members answer a short series of questions about their caregiving situation in order to reach a personal dashboard loaded with information specific to their needs and location. The dashboard is a personalized “one-stop shop” where caregivers can return—at any time—to read (fact sheets and articles), view (educational videos), and listen (webinars) to FCA’s vast and respected catalog of caregiver resources. Additionally, the personal dashboard allows members to correspond with an FCA Resource Specialist with their caregiving questions. Personal information is private, HIPAA-compliant, and is never shared or sold.
